About Us
Who We Are
California Association of Supervision of Curriculum and Development (CASCD) is an affiliate of ASCD*. CASCD actively seeks membership from all segments of the educational community from pre-school through the university levels. Members of our affiliate include superintendents, district administrators, principals, teachers, university professors, school board members, college students, and CA Department of Education employees. We currently have over 2,000 members in our organization.
Purpose
The purpose of CASCD is to improve education by
- Assisting members to become more effective in their roles as educational leaders.
- Disseminating timely information about exemplary curriculum, instruction, and leadership practices.
- Delivering professional development experiences designed to improve the achievement of all students, PK-Adult.
- Collaborating with other state associations to amplify the positive voice toward school improvement.
Activities
CASCD focuses on bringing educators the best thinking on emerging ideas through a variety of products and services, such as:
- Newsletters that furnish timely announcements on state and local events related to curriculum, instruction, and leadership.
- Regional workshops that cover topics relevant to local and state needs.
- A diverse professional network that empowers members to share state-of-the-art resources, face challenges unique to California educators, and gain insight into the vital work of teaching, learning, and leading.

* CASCD is an affiliate of ASCD. Both non-profit organizations operate as unique 503.c entities. Membership in CASCD does not include membership in ASCD and vice versa. CASCD encourages membership in both organizations to expand your benefits and impact from local to international.
